It was his first year out of High School, and Raphael had to think about a career. He knew he wanted to make money, and lots of it. Financial security was a top priority, as was buying a house by the sea. So naturally, he moved into the Australian Film Industry. He decided to study Film and Television for one year at Footscray City College, and, when he wasn't involved in gang warfare, dodging bullets and knife fights, he was making films.

In November 2002, Raphael registered his first production company, RED M STUDIOS. This was the company that was going to cause a stir in the industry, it was going to take the world by storm and change the face of cinema as we know it. Within hours of this bold declaration, Raphael realized that it would take more than cock-eyed optimism and a clean pair of underpants to reinvent the status-quo, and began working tenaciously at building his dream.

Whilst still holding and nurturing the long view, Raphael began working with a performing arts school, producing concert videos and dance video clips for the many students. Within a matter of months, Raphael had established a contact within Channel 31, and impressed the Program Manager with his many videos of the young students dancing and singing on the stage. Perhaps it was Raphael's artistic integrity, or perhaps these videos fulfilled the Program Manager's darkest perversions, whatever the reason, Raphael was given a job directing and editing the ground-breaking and highly controversial "Garden Tap".

It wasn't long before Raphael's renegade ways were noticed within the wider community, and he was commissioned by Roadshow Entertainment to produce his very first music video clip. This was to be his first nationally broadcast production, but not the last. He quickly developed a reputation and became known as the Yiddisher Director from the mean streets of Caulfield. Since then, Raphael has produced several music video clips, he's produced work for companies as large as Sensis, he has won honours in several nationwide film competitions, and still has time to write ridiculously unprofessional and self-deprecating biographies. In the future, he still plans to change the face of the sea and live by the film industry & or something like that.
